Everyone wants to be a Rook …

We’re bursting at the seams, embracing the challenge of managing our incredible growth within the limits of our facilities.

How to join the waiting list

If your child is interested in joining Lewes FC Juniors, follow these steps:

  • Complete the waiting list form here . This ensures your child’s details are recorded, and you’ll be contacted as soon as a spot becomes available.

  • Join Saturday Rooks here . These sessions are ideal for players who may find matchday teams too structured. They are more casual and provide opportunities to enjoy football without committing to league matches. Please note that we no longer offer training-only memberships due to administrative challenges and our commitment to encouraging all players to aspire to match play.

  • Support any fundraising and volunteering opportunities offered by the club and/or Foundation, as we all want to be able to provide more football.

Please do not contact our volunteer Club Secretary Jane Phipps or any other club volunteer to ask for updates on your child’s place on the waiting list. Where a year group has a team already, the coach has access to the waitlist and will manage it as s/he sees fit. See our Volunteering page here for year groups that do not currently have coaches, sign up your child to the waitlist as in 1. and get in touch if you are interested in coaching that year group.

Joining up as a member by invitation only

Becoming a member of Lewes FC Juniors means joining a club that puts player development, fun, and community first. As a member, your child will have access to high-quality training, league matches, and a supportive, inclusive environment where they can grow as a player and as a person.

Our club is entirely volunteer-run, and every membership fee goes toward the essentials that make our club thrive — from pitch hire to equipment to referee fees. By joining, you’re helping to sustain a club that’s committed to providing football for all.

For families who have been invited to join by the Membership and Registrations Secretary of Lewes FC Juniors after being accepted by the appropriate team’s coach, instructions for completing registration are also provided. Please note final decision about membership acceptance lies with the Volunteers Committee, not your child’s coach.

How to register as a member

For players who have been invited to join by the Membership and Registrations Secretary, here’s how to get started with registering:

Step 1: Consent and documentation: read through the Club-parent contract

By becoming a member, you are signing up both you and your child to adhere to the terms and conditions of this contract with the club.

Step 2: Complete the club’s registration form

If you already use Spond with another club or team, we recommend using the same email address, as this will allow you to see both at the same time in the Spond app.

Important notes for existing Spond users:

  • Even if you are already using Spond, we are asking you to sign up again. This ensures we collect all the correct information upfront. You may need to ask your coach to delete your old Spond group before registering anew.

FAN numbers:
When you click through, you will receive instructions on how to secure a FAN (FA Number) for yourself and your child before proceeding with registration.

Tips for completing the form

  • Pick the right option: Ensure you select the CHILD option for player registrations.

  • Avoid auto-fill: Auto-fill may mistakenly replace your child's name with your own. Please double-check all entries.

  • Add an additional guardian: If you’d like a partner to receive club messages and help manage your child’s availability, you can add their contact details as an additional guardian.

  • Child contact details: Please do not enter your child’s contact details unless they are over 16 and signing up for themselves. This is due to system limitations (we cannot remove certain form options). Instead, please put your details in. This will help the Spond Club and Team apps to link up.

  • Multiple children: If you’re registering multiple children, complete the form separately for each child, using the same contact details.

  • Year group notes: If your child’s date of birth suggests they should be in a different school year from their current year group, please include this as a note in the form.

What happens next?

  1. Once you submit your form, the system should send you an email confirming receipt of your registration request.

  2. You will also receive an invitation to send a headshot and passport ID to our Membership and Registrations Secretary.

Step 3: Lewes FC Juniors approves your registration

  • Your registration will be reviewed and approved by Lewes FC Juniors.

  • During less busy times of the year, approvals are processed roughly once a week. During peak periods, approvals may be processed daily. We will aim to accommodate busy periods promptly, such as getting ready for key events like the Pan Siro.

  • Once approved, the system will send you a confirmation email.

Need assistance?

If you have not received an email within a reasonable timeframe or are struggling with the process, please reach out via email to our Memberships and Registrations Secretary.

At Lewes FC Juniors, we operate a No Pay, No Play policy. This ensures fairness and allows the club to remain financially sustainable. Players with outstanding fees will not be able to participate in training sessions or matches until payments are up-to-date.

We understand that financial difficulties can arise. If you’re unable to meet the payment deadline, please contact the Vice Chair to discuss a payment plan or access to financial support. All discussions will be confidential.
